1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Star AutoTech ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Star AutoTech website (www.starautotech.in) and all associated services, including vehicle history, insurance, RTO permit, fitness, PUC, road tax, challans, FASTag, theft check, valuation, compliance dashboards, and developer APIs.

By accessing our website, submitting a contact form, requesting any report, or making any payment, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, please discontinue use of our website and services immediately.

2. Description of Services

Star AutoTech provides the following vehicle compliance, intelligence, and verification services to individuals and businesses:

• Vehicle History: Compilation of ownership, blacklisting records, service timelines, and odometer checks from official databases.
• Insurance: Validity verification, insurer checks, policy numbers, and expiry tracking.
• Permit: RTO commercial permit verification, including National Permits, goods/passenger categories, and jurisdictional validity.
• Fitness: RTO safety inspection certificate validity and renewal tracking.
• PUC: Pollution Under Control certificate status, expiry details, and emission reading validation.
• Challan: Pending e-challan violations and outstanding traffic fines from state and national traffic police portals.
• Road Tax: Motor vehicle tax payment status, lifetimes tax validities, and pending liabilities.
• FASTag: Account status (active/suspended), issuer bank details, and tag balance checks.
• Theft Check: Search national theft database registries and dispute history to ensure clear legal ownership.
• Vehicle Valuation: Price estimation of pre-owned vehicles based on model, age, odometer records, and history.
• Compliance Dashboard: Unified tracking portal for fleet operators to track permits, fitness, tax, PUC, and insurance deadlines.
• API Access: Automated API integrations for developer access to live RTO compliance verification.

3. Eligibility & Permitted Use

To use Star AutoTech's services, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a resident or legal entity registered in India
• Have a legitimate purpose for requesting vehicle information (personal verification, pre-purchase check, legal compliance, etc.)
• Not use our services for any illegal, fraudulent, or harmful purposes

Our services are intended for:

• Individual vehicle buyers and sellers for pre-purchase/pre-sale verification
• Vehicle owners verifying their own registration, insurance, or challan status
• Businesses such as used car dealers, fleet operators, and insurance companies for legitimate commercial verification
• Legal and financial professionals conducting due diligence

4. User Obligations

As a user of Star AutoTech, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information when submitting any request or contact form
• Use the reports and information provided solely for lawful purposes
• Not attempt to circumvent our rate-limiting, spam-prevention, or security systems
• Not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit any reports or data obtained from Star AutoTech without prior written permission
• Not use our services to harass, stalk, or harm any individual
• Not submit false, misleading, or fraudulent vehicle registration numbers
• Comply with all applicable laws, including the Information Technology Act 2000 and the Motor Vehicles Act 1988

You acknowledge that misuse of vehicle information (e.g., using it to locate individuals for harassment) may constitute a criminal offence under Indian law, and Star AutoTech cannot be held liable for such misuse.

5. Payment, Fees & Refund Policy

Pricing: Service fees are communicated to you before payment is required. All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

Payment: Payment must be made in full before report generation begins. We accept UPI, bank transfer, and other methods as communicated at the time of service.

Refunds:

• If we are unable to retrieve the requested vehicle information due to a technical failure on our part, a full refund will be issued within 5–7 business days
• If a report has been successfully generated and delivered, refunds are generally not applicable as digital services cannot be "returned"
• If the vehicle registration number provided was incorrect, leading to an incorrect or incomplete report, we may offer a complementary re-run upon verification, at our sole discretion
• Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of report delivery to be considered

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

Star AutoTech's services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we make every effort to ensure accuracy and completeness of reports, we make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

• The absolute accuracy, completeness, or currency of data retrieved from government databases
• That government databases are always up-to-date, error-free, or comprehensive
• That the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
• That the report information is sufficient to make any specific legal, financial, or purchasing decision

Our reports should be used as one of several reference points in your decision-making process. For legal decisions involving significant financial amounts, we recommend consulting a qualified legal or automotive professional.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Star AutoTech and its directors, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Your reliance on any vehicle report or information provided by us
• Any purchasing, selling, or financial decision made based on our reports
• Inaccuracies in government databases that affect the completeness of our reports
• Temporary unavailability of our website or services
• Any unauthorised access to your data despite our reasonable security measures

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Star AutoTech website — including text, design, logos, graphics, and software — is the intellectual property of Star AutoTech and is protected under Indian copyright and trademark law.

You may print or download report content for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our website content without prior written permission from Star AutoTech.

9. Termination of Access

Star AutoTech reserves the right to refuse service or terminate access to any user who:

• Violates any provision of these Terms
• Engages in abusive, fraudulent, or illegal behaviour
• Attempts to misuse or circumvent our systems
• Repeatedly submits incorrect or fraudulent information

Termination of access does not entitle you to a refund for services already rendered.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Star AutoTech's services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
